HEMATOLOGY

Vet Clinical Hematology Tests

The testing utilizes the latest technologies to provide the most accurate results.

Laboratory performs a wide variety of basic and advanced hematology testing on whole blood, serum, urine, cerebrospinal fluids and other body fluids.

Routine hematology and coagulation testing is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Additionally, advanced hematological tests are a performed using a variety of techniques including flow cytometry and electrophoresis based methods and are available from Monday to Friday, 7 am – 5 pm.

The Hematology Laboratory also performed body fluid analysis including:

  • Automated Urinalysis with the IRIS
  • Red Cell Distribution Width; RDW
  • Routine coagulation testing (PT and PTT)
  • Leucocyte Count; (TLC & DLC)
  • Cell counts and WBC differentials on CNS, pleural and ascetic fluids

Vet Clinical Biochemistry Tests

The most commonly used biological samples for enzyme and protein analysis are blood and urine.

In the field of biochemistry, one essential aspect of diagnosing and monitoring various medical conditions is the measurement of enzymes or proteins present in different biological samples.

Measuring the amount or activity of a particular enzyme or protein in a sample of blood or urine or fluid or other tissue from the body. Or in other words the biochemical profile is a series of blood tests used to evaluate the functional capacity of several critical organs and systems, such as the liver and kidneys. These tests can be done on an empty stomach or not.

The Biochemistry Tests Laboratory includes:

  • Measurement of liver enzymes
  • Evaluation of kidney function
  • Measurement of specific enzymes or proteins related to certain conditions
  • Specialized Tests: Additional tests may be performed based on specific clinical indications
  • Total Protein and Albumin Analysis: Assessment of total protein and albumin levels to evaluate overall nutritional status and liver function.

MICROBIOLOGY

Vet Microbiology Laboratory

Advanced Techniques for Microorganism Detection, Identification, Enumeration, and Antibiotic Sensitivity Analysis.

In the field of veterinary medicine, the accurate detection, identification, enumeration, and evaluation of microorganisms, along with their sensitivity to antibiotics, play a crucial role in maintaining animal health and preventing the spread of infectious diseases. Technological advancements have led to the development of innovative methods that leverage biological, biochemical, and chemical techniques for comprehensive analysis:

Antibiotic Sensitivity Analysis:

  • Detection and Identification Methods: The rapid and reliable detection and identification of microorganisms are essential for diagnosing infections in animals.
  • Enumeration and Quantification: Determining the microbial load or population in a sample is vital for assessing the severity of an infection and monitoring the effectiveness of treatment.
  • Antibiotic Sensitivity Analysis: Assessing the susceptibility of microorganisms to different antibiotics is crucial for effective treatment strategies.
  • Molecular Methods: Molecular techniques, such as PCR-based assays and DNA sequencing, can provide insights into the genetic mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in microorganisms.
